I have been a counsellor for 25 years, and have had experience of working with clients with many different kinds of problems.

My approach to counselling is grounded in two basic principles. I believe that it is essential to be flexible and to tailor therapy as far as possible to what makes sense to the person seeking my assistance, and what they find useful. I also believe that each of has our own personal strengths and resources and that effective counselling involves discovering how to make best use of these qualities.

Further information can be found in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy, published in 2010 by Sage.

It is important to find a counsellor with whom you feel comfortable, so I offer a free initial consultation to allow potential clients to decide whether I would be the right therapist for them.

I work with individuals, couples and groups, provide counselling supervision and am available for consultation on the design and evaluation of counselling services.
